Refreshing Fruit Kebabs |
Safety Points: Reminder to Kids- Always ask an adult for permission before you start to cook.
Preparation time: 20-30 minutes
Ingredients:
6 strawberries
¼ rockmelon
2 kiwi fruits
¼ watermelon seedless
2 tablespoon sugar (optional)
Icing sugar for dusting (optional)
Juice of 1 lime (optional)
Bamboo skewers (make sure that you trim the sharp ends of the sticks with scissors, especially if you are serving children)
Cutting the fruits:
- Peeled and quarter the kiwi fruits.
- Remove the stalk from the strawberry and cut into half.
- Cut the watermelon into cubes
- Cut the rockmelon into cubes (skin and seeds removed), or use a baller to make them into a ball.
Instructions:
- Put all the fruits into a large bowl and pour the lime juice over the fruit and gently mix the sugar.
- Thread 5- 6 pieces of fruits into each stick alternately e.g. strawberry, kiwi, rock melon and then watermelon to create a colorful presentation.
- Put the kebabs on a plate and refrigerate if not serving right away.
- Just before serving dust with icing sugar. You can also serve with a bowl of fruit yoghurt for dipping.
If the fruits are not in season you can make your own set of fruits.
